Our popular, industry accredited Food Hygiene and Safety Level 2 Course from our sister company, ‘The Training Terminal’ will provide food handlers with the legally required certification to work in the catering and hospitality sector. All staff who handle, or prepare food should be adequately trained and qualified to carry out their work and the course has been especially designed to suit anyone working within the hospitality, or catering sector.

The basic aspects of food hygiene and safety will be outlined, enabling staff to work responsibly and competently, while also hopefully minimising hazards in the workplace. The legalities of working with food will be explored and students will be advised on best practice for complying with the law.

The Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene online course follows a fun, interactive format and has been divided into seven easy to follow, user-friendly modules;

1. Introduction to Food Safety - The importance of adhering to required standards is explained, as well as the dangers and consequences of not complying.

2. Personal Hygiene - The necessity for impeccable personal hygiene for all food handling personnel is discussed in the second module.

3. Microbiological Food Hazards and their Control – Bacteria and cross contamination are thoroughly outlined.

4. Other Food Safety Hazards and their Control – You will learn about allergens and allergic reactions in this module.

5. Food Handling, Storage and Preparation – The safe handling and storage of food is discussed and you will be educated on the importance of correct temperature control.

6. Keeping the Workplace Clean and Hygienic – This module will inform you about cleaning effectively, as well as offering an insight into cleaning chemicals.

7. Design of Food Premises and the Control of Pests – An important section that examines pest control and how to avoid food contamination.


At the end of each module, you will be required to complete a short quiz to put your newly acquired knowledge to the test! Upon successful progression of each module, you will then need to undertake an ‘End of Course’ quiz. The quiz will consist of 30 multiple choice questions based on the material that you have studied and you will need to answer a minimum of 21 out of 30 questions to successfully pass with 70%. However, there is no pressure because if you are unable to pass the course on your first attempt, then you will have the option to re-sit the test as many times as you need to until you do pass.
